While in Thailand and visiting a monastery, a burial ritual was explained to us… Whenever a monk passed away, a silver coin was placed under his tongue before cremation. After the process was finished, they would spread the ashes on the ground, and the other monks would sort thru the ashes, looking for the silver coin, as it was a symbol of good luck. But the point of the ceremony was to show that, no matter what physical things you attained in life, something as simple as a silver coin could not be taken with you…


Was nice to have things put into perspective and reminded of what truly matters in this life.
